Map 24 used to be really bad. They had a Java interface that slowed and sometimes crashed computers and their driving directions service was lacking. The one good thing they had going for it was a lack of special features that made their mapping service and driving directions easy to use. Well now they've done away with the Java Applets (thank goodness!), replacing it with an AJAX based mapping service and adding lots of features. No longer does it crash your computer but getting driving directions is a bit more complicated now.
Map 24's driving directions and mapping web site's interface comes with a toolbar where you have to click a different button to do different things which involves clicking different icons to do different things and then again to turn them off. While clicking a button doesn't sound all that complicated, when your on the side of the road on your laptop (no mouse on a laptop usually), looking for driving directions, it can be quite the pain in the butt.
The graphics quality of the driving directions maps as well as the satellite view are of poor quality as well. While no one in the industry has graphics as good as google maps, the driving directions and mapping graphics on Map 24 are definitely substandard.
Where Map 24 seperates itself fropm the other EZ driving directions sites is printing driving directions. For simplicity and speed you can just print the basic map driving directions. But for those who need to do more advance things, like driving directions with multiple stops there are several printing options that no one else has. You can even specify how fast you intend to drive and it'll adjust your trip time accordingly. these extra options of coutrse take extra time and make the EZ Driving Directions not quite so easy, but for those who need the extra options it's certinley worth it.
Despite the ability to customize, Map 24 has an irritating and problematic user interface letting us draw a conclusion that we can't recommend this driving directions and Mapquest type site.
