MapQuest may be the best known driving directions web site there is. But they are far from the best. Maybe they're afraid that if they change they'll loose the readers they do have. Maybe they don't have the resources to keep up with the times. Whatever the case may be, Map Quest has certainly been surpassed by all the other driving directions web sites except mappoint.

UPDATE:
Mapquest has finally updated their technology. Sadly they've made the driving directions even worse than before!

Now the map is even smaller, harder to move the location being viewed, and if your just trying to view a map of an area you their map doesn't zoom in or out, nor can you pan in any direction.

Type in any address and you'll be flooded with advertisements. The ads on this driving directions site take up more than four times as much room on the screen as the map does!

The driving directions part of the site is much better than the mapping part. However mapping is of huge importance when you don't know the address where you are to begin or end. The driving directions themselves seem to be dead on in most of the tests that EZ Driving directions performed, however the interface is flawed in the map doesn't fit on most computer screens and there no way to make it smaller.

MAPQUEST still has a way to go if it is to catch up with all the new EZ driving directions sites out there.
